For well over 10 years, I have been teaching Pilates in Broadstone, working with a wide range of people in the area. During this time, I’ve delivered classes at Broadstone Golf Club, worked with staff at Broadstone First School and ran sessions in other local venues, helping individuals improve their movement, strength and overall well-being.
I design tailored Pilates session to suit individual goals, whether that is improving golf performance for Broadstone Golf Club members or supporting those dealing with pain, such as lower back pain. I’ve also worked closely with local GP surgeries and health centres including patients from Hadleigh House and Broadstone physiotherapy, to help people move better and feel stronger.
The Benefits of Pilates for Broadstone Community
Pilates classes offer a range of benefits, regardless of age or fitness level. Many people turn to Pilates to build strength, manage back pain, or improve sporting performance. With my extensive background in qualifications such as Movement Therapy, Sports Therapy, and Sports Massage, I specialise in tailoring classes to each individual’s needs—setting them apart from the standard Pilates classes you might find elsewhere. My small Pilates classes are specifically designed to address your unique goals, ensuring a personalised approach that provides the attention and expertise required to achieve better results.
Pilates Classes to Help with sporting performance & back pain
As mentioned above, many people come to my Pilates classes to improve their sporting performance or manage pain. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I integrate what each person actually needs into the sessions, ensuring they get the most benefit.
For those struggling with back pain, we typically start with a biomechanics assessment to identify any movement restrictions or weaknesses that may be contributing to discomfort. From there, I create targeted Pilates exercises to address those specific areas, ensuring they are integrated into the class. This way, instead of a generic Pilates Class, the focus is on what your body actually needs to move and feel better.
The two most common types of athletes I work with in Broadstone are dancers and golfers. They often come to me with pain or limitations in their performance. Rather than relying on a standard movement assessment—such as simply watching a golf swing—I conduct a detailed movement and joint assessment to pinpoint the underlying issues. Once identified, I develop a specific Pilates program that addresses these areas and incorporate those exercises into our sessions.
Bringing it all together
In my Pilates classes, it’s not about delivering standard exercises—it’s about creating a session that is tailored to you. Whether you need support with back pain, want to improve your golf performance, or have specific movement goals, Pilates Classes are designed to be more specific and effective for you.
