What makes our Dorset Sports Massage course Unique?
Our goal is to provide you with more than just a Sports Massage Certificate. There are a number of cheaper, shorter Sports Massage Courses available that simply provide a certificate. This may suit some peoples requirements, however our course is for those looking to achieve high quality Sports Massage standards and wanting to be a Sports Massage Therapist that stands out from the rest of the competition out there.
This course is backed by the latest research (see our blog: What is up to date in New Sports Massage Courses) and teaches essential skills that helps you stand out as Sports Massage Therapist. Much of our course content is usually reserved for level 4 and Level 5 Sports Massage Courses. Typically Level 3 Sports Massage Courses only teach: Anatomy, principles of health & fitness, soft tissue dysfunction, professional practice and basic Sports Massage treatment – often two days per subject. If you have a fitness qualification you have probably already covered this already.
On our course you will learn:
– Degree-level anatomy
– Objective & Subjective Assessment (usually only Level 4)
– Intro to Pain Science (not usually taught on Sports Massage)
– Tissue healing & Posture assessment (usually level 4-5)
– Active, Passive & Resisted test for Spine, Hip, Shoulder, Wrist/Hand and Foot & Ankle (usually Level 5)
– Advanced Sports Massage Techniques & Muscle Testing (usually Level 5)
– Pre & Post Massage (not usually taught on Sports Massage)
– Introduction to Dermo neuromodulation (not usually taught on Sports Massage)
– How to start a Sports Massage Business (not usually taught on Sports Massage)
By combining these advanced skills with career-focussed training, our course equips you to become an industry-leading Sports Massage Therapist.
How much is a Sports Massage Course in Bournemouth?
Sports Massage Courses usually cost up to £1,999 for a standard Level 3 courses. Level 4 courses exceed £2,000. Our small group Sports Massage Course usually costs £1,899, but you can secure the early bird price of £1,499 if you book at least 6 weeks before the course starts.

How Long Does a Sports Massage Course Take?
Our Sports Massage Course includes ten in-person days, usually scheduled as one weekend per month. To earn your qualification, you will also need to complete 40 practice hours. We recommend spreading these hours between weekends, completing around 8 hours in between course weekends.
If you follow this schedule, you can typically complete the course in approximately in five months. This structure allows you to balance learning with practice, helping you gain both confidence and skill as you progress. This also allows you to continue a full time occupation with minimal disruption.
Career Opportunities after a Sports Massage Course
There a numerous opportunities open to you, once you have completed a Sports Massage Course. Many people who have completed the course previously have gone on to work as a full time Sports Massage Therapist. Choosing to work in a specialist area has also been found to be a popular approach. Previous areas to specialise in have included: working with dancers, footballers or delivering Sports Massage to stroke rehab patients.
Others have integrated Sports Massage into their existing business. For exmaple, Personal Trainers, Pilates Instructors and dance teachers often combine these skills to enhance their services to their clients. This has helped ease pain in Pilates sessions, improve clients performance in Personal Training and reduce pain in dancers performances.
In additon, you can further your professional development. Some students progress on to Level 5 training to become a Sports Therapist. Whilst others, have pursued a degree in Physiotherapy.
